Rockbitch - The Gallery, August 2002

I've at last got round to sorting out some photographs from the band's last show at Worcester, and felt I wanted to show them somewhere on this site. Not only that, but there are a number of photos from other gigs which got left out of the earlier review pages and which possibly merit a glance.

It does seem to me that there are hints of astonishing beauty in some of these pictures, though that is a beauty for which I take no credit and which I have tried only to avoid sullying. Looking back at the year through the gauze of these images, I feel I have stumbled across a rare place where ritual and love intersect, theatre and truth become one. The journey hasn't been without its frustrations but in the touch of the flesh, and yet more in the intensity of the gaze, sparks have been struck, memories will live.

I'm sorry about that, but quality does fall off with the degree of compression, and I feel I owe it to the band to show them at their best. And if the truth be told, I own a degree of vanity myself. I'd welcome comments on this, or on the pictures themselves, or on any other relevant issue.

Of course, all the photos were taken with the permission of the band and I'm enormously grateful for their generosity and trust. I don't know if the results are any good, but it was fun while it lasted.
